I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.
Not exactly. For the past few days, technically since Sunday night, I have felt something stirring inside of me. It's the feeling of one or two things:
- God is about to use me for something that I don't know about yet.
- God is about to do something in my life that I don't know about yet.
Both are possibilities, and really both could be the same thing. I just don't know. I'm so glad that Johnathan is doing a series at Revamped about living recklessly. Not going out and make an idiot of yourself kind of reckless, but living a reckless life filled with the Holy Spirit. I don't have premonitions, I don't question God, but I feel like this is part of the beginning of something amazing.
Do you ever think about your relationship with God? Not just send out a prayer to Him and hope he puts it in His notes on His iPhone 8s (you know He's ahead of the times). But actually sit down and think about how you spend your time with Him, or how you want to spend your time with Him.
While I was running today, this came to my mind. I've always seen my relationship with God as nothing but love. That's what it should be, right? I argue with Him; He sets me straight.
I always see myself in nothing but love with the Lord. Secure. Embraced by Him. Dancing with Him. Singing a love song to Him. Being romanced. Being the bride of Christ. My beloved. (See why I love the song "Dance with Me" by Jesus Culture? Pretty much sums it up for me.)
I want to be filled with the Holy Spirit every day. Thinking about it puts a smile on my face. I'm sure other runners at the park tonight just thought "She really loves running!" But I was just spending time with God, and it had me grinning.
It's far more than spending time with Him. It's being in love with Him and following Him and showing Him to others. When you can't see someone, it's hard to believe in them. That's pretty simple. If I can't see you, never have seen you, how can I believe you exist?
He has to be seen through me and with me - even while running at the park.
"Beautiful Things" by Gungor has been my theme song this week. I feel like He's making beautiful things out of me. Making me new. It's a strange feeling, but it's the best feeling.
