It started feeling like October...
Well, not today. It's still warm out there, Texas.
October is my favorite month. Winter is my favorite season. Not sure if that makes sense.
Here is my obligatory "Why I love October" blog:
Usually at some point in October, the weather changes from summer to fall.
I love warm colors. I just don't look good in them.
My birthday is in October.
It smells delicious.
The cutest clothes are fall clothes.
It's time to bring out our deep hued lipsticks, ladies.
Trick or Treaters!
I don't care what any of you say about candy corn. It's in season and I'm eating it.
Halloween movies on Netflix!
Halloween movies on...everything.
Cool October rain.
The hot summer of July and August never fails to disappoint. It bleaches the beauty of some things, and wilts them into pale imitations of what they really are. Summer sultry.
October lights up the landscape. October turns trees from their proper green to a fiery gold.
October nights have no comparison. The moon is a special hue, the deepest yellow all year, and the stars seem bigger and brighter.
October makes everything more alive. Special things happen: It's World Series time, highlight of the baseball year. There's a harvest moon and the rising of Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin.
October is the beginning of the closing of the year. It's when October comes that the year fulfills its purpose. The world is most inviting and the year makes its grand last stand.
It doesn't get much better than a day in October.
Oh, yes, October is also the month I get this guy:
"It doesn't matter much how old I grow. I hate to see October go."
