Happy Monday. I feel
like death. Seriously, what side of the
bed did I wake up on this morning? The
side facing the Grim Reaper.
I hate waking up on the wrong side of the bed – especially on
a Monday. Fortunately, this day should
go by fast. Then I have to go to the
grocery store and I want to make something very unhealthy for dinner and then
cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie.
I definitely have a case of the Mondays. Whatever that really means. I could feel like this any day of the
week. It doesn’t help that I don’t feel
well, but I could feel sick any day of the week.
I am in a funk, you guys, and I can’t shake it. I get out of it for very short periods of
time and then I wake up like this.
Granted, this has only been a week and half of a funk, but that’s a long
time for me. I want to get off work and
tell Shawn I’m sorry for being so cranky this morning. I text him that, but I’d rather say it. I’d feel a lot better.
Really, when it comes down to it, there’s not much of an
excuse to wake up on the “wrong side of the bed” or have “a case of the
Mondays.” Those are just excuses for
being in a bad mood.
I have no reason to be in a bad mood. I’ve got a place to live, I’ll put food in the
kitchen this evening, a job, a pretty awesome boyfriend, friends, family, and I
live near some mountains. I don’t deserve everything that I have, based
on my attitude as of late. I’ve been
here for almost two months – it’s time to stop sulking and get it
together. Rub some dirt in it. Swallow my pride.
In every aspect of life, you have to get it together. My adjustment period is over. I can’t expect to be catered to. I need to get back to my attitude before I got here. That's the person who showed up in Alaska, but I'm not her right now in many regards.
My favorite missionary, Jamie Wright, said yesterday "God's not waiting on you to get your shit together. He's just waiting for you."
Grace waits.
