And Like A Gazelle...

First thing's first: I did not get a sunburn on Saturday.  I was only in the sun for a couple of hours, but that's long enough to do damage to my skin.  I wasn't wearing sunscreen.  Sometimes, you just get lucky.

Saturday was fun.  I'll admit it.  It was actually a lot of fun...Robert was right.  We placed third for mixed relays, and yes there were more than three teams.  Now I have this little plaque thing and a medal.  I guess I'm going to need a little shelf for it.  I don't enjoy racing because I'm too hard on myself, and then this happens: I do a race, I disappoint myself, and then I decide I'm going to do ALL the races until I'm satisfied.  So that's where I'm at right now.  You will find me running this evening and keeping track of my pace.

That's neither here nor there.  I'm proud of my team.  Good job Will and Robert.  It was a pleasure.  Here is the most important thing we can take from Saturday: The most handsome photobomb I've seen:
That's Dorothy's cousin.  I don't know him (so I cropped half of his face out).  This was a coincidence, but look at Robert back there smiling for the camera.  Stud.  The half of me looks pissed off.  I wasn't.  It's the sunglasses.  They give me "angry face."

I've been doing a good job following my marathon training schedule.  I have to mix up the days because of Revamped every Tuesday and sometimes I have events during the week that prohibit me from running.  However, my endurance has gotten better, my speed has not.  My speed isn't really supposed to, I guess.  Whatever, I run like a gazelle and it's beautiful.

We've made it halfway through September.  Fall is so close, I can smell it.  I can taste it.  I can feel it approaching.  Everyone is getting sick with sore throats.  The weather is about to change.

I love fall and winter for a few reasons.  The break from the heat is an obvious reason, but here is a list of other reasons why I'm happy the deepest pit of hell, also known as summer, is almost over and cooler months are ahead:

  1. I'm not going to suffer from heat exhaustion for at least another eight months.
  2. Everything smells like pumpkin spice.
  3. I get to start wearing tights again!
  4. My Birthday!
  5. Boots!
  6. I'd rather run in the cold than in the fire.
  7. In three months, it's going to smell like Christmas.
  8. Christmas decorations!
  9. Christmas music!
  10. Halloween! (I'm out of order.)
  11. Football!
  12. College basketball starts in two months!
  13. I'm not going to pass out from heat exhaustion for at least another eight months.
  14. New Girl comes back on tomorrow!
  15. Salted Caramel Mochas!
  16. Starbucks red cups!
  17. Orange, yellow, and red leaves!
  18. Hats!
  19. Pea Coats!
  20. Leggings!
  21. No heat exhaustion for at least another eight months.
  22. My Birthday!
  23. Sitting by fires!
  24. S'mores!
  25. I won't start sweating as soon as I go outside.
  26. There's a 1% chance it will snow.
  27. Holiday food!
  28. Halloween costumes!
  29. My Birthday!
  30. I'm not going to suffer from heat exhaustion for at least another eight months.
Heat exhaustion happens, you guys.  Knowing that I will avoid it for a while is a great feeling.

  1. This is quite possibly the best list ever. EVER.
I could just copy and paste this and change the title to "My favorite things".
    I like you.
