Kitschy

There is quite the negative connotation with the word kitsch is there not?  I find it to be adorable. Not for its meaning but just the way it rolls off the tongue.  Especially when you add that "y" to the end.  Say it with me - "Kitschy."

With that being my introduction, and a random (possibly vulgar considering the definition) one at that, welcome.  I would like to welcome you to this Blog: Love & Other Blogs.  I wanted this to be titled "500 Days of Blog" but :

  1. The name was already in use by someone whose blog does not have anything to do with the title
  2. I felt like it was a goal I was setting to write a blog for 500 straight days and I did not like that idea.  I do not wish to have carpal tunnel in my mid-twenties.
I have chosen Love & Other Blogs for a couple of reasons:
  1. This blog is about every other blog you have already Google searched
  2. I'm a girl.  Doesn't the word Love come with that?
  3. I would have named it Blog & Other Drugs but I fear my Mumsy might come across this and get concerned.  I've been down the "I think Brooke is on drugs" road.
Indeed it is what is.  Indeed is my favorite word by the way.  This is a blog about all of those other blogs out there.  We've read them:
  • Love
  • Religion
  • Fitness
  • I Don't Give A... hey watch your mouth
  • Politics
  • Family
  • Being a Mommy
  • Eating Disorders (You've read one!)
  • I Wear Skinny Jeans, a Fedora, and My Mustache is Awesome
The list goes on and on.  We all believe we are writers.  Aren't we though?  We all have the ability to put words on paper and make a story.  There is no art to writing.  There is an art to writing well.  Sorry if that burst the bubble you've been sitting on as a "writer."  It's not safe to sit on bubbles anyway.  Writing is like golf.  Only 15% of the people who play golf are good golfers.  It is true.

I am not here to make a mockery of any one person or their writing because I am not in that 15% of good writers.  The goal is to make the Google search easier for you.  You can find all your blog needs in one blog site.  Here's the catch: I may not have written about what you want to read about when you drop by.  I will, however, get to that point.

Kitsch - form of art that is considered an inferior, tasteless copy of an extant style of art or a worthless imitation of art of recognized value.

There it is in a nutshell.
