It's Tearin' Up My Heart

Nsync - I don't remember what year they broke up, but I know that was one of the worst years of my life.  I blame Justin Timberlake.  This blog is not about the negative, it is strictly a positive blog because I love Nsync.  Yeah, not loved but love.
I didn't like the Backstreet Boys because they had no rhythm.  I didn't like 98 Degrees because they were just a group of posers and there were only four of them.  The only other boy band that earned my respect was BBMak and that's only because they were British.

It was all about Nsync - the most respectable boy band of all time.

Why Nsync?  What is it about Nsync that makes your heart throb?  What is it about Nsync that you just can't get enough of?

Well, I'm glad you asked:

JC Chasez.
I love him.  The only reason I would watch America's Best Dance Crew was for JC.  He has only gotten better looking.  I like to refer to him as my boyfriend and at 25 years old, I'm almost OK with that.  He did go through a fashion stage of leather and highlights that I was not a fan of, but he grew out of it.  I'm not in to dating guys shorter than me and JC measures in at about 5'10, but I'd change my standards for him and his vast collection of ties.  I'm embarrassed by his attempt at a solo career, but I've said it before and I'll say it again: Love endures all things.
Have You Seen Those Moves?!
Those guys can dance!  No other boy band could dance like the four legit dancers in Nsync.  Sorry Lance, but even you admitted that you have no rhythm.  As a preteen and young teenager, I had every dance move to every Nsync song memorized and now at 25 years old, I'm almost OK with that.  I could have gone on tour with these guys.  I have natural rhythm (thank God), but I like to give some of the credit to the smooth moves on Nsync.
Lip Syncing?
Back in my day, lip syncing was not cool.  Pop stars these days would not survive for two seconds in 1998.  Nsync actually sang during performances and danced their little booties off.  Except for that performance during the 1999 MTV VMAs - I blame that on the fact that Britney Spears performed in the same set and she had to lip sync.
Britney Spears.
Simply put: These guys can actually tell you what Britney was like before she went crazy.  And I respect that.

What A Vast Array Of Hair Styles.
We've got dreads, dyed red hair, frosted tips and some Jew curl - all in one band.

God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You.
That might be one of the worst love songs of all time, but Nsync made it enjoyable.  That song is so bad, there is a country version of it.  The music video was vintage, so that made it even better.  We all know I love vintage and I love Nsync so I kind of had to love this song, and I'm almost OK with that.
They Bounced Back!
It's Tearin' Up My Heart had to be one of the worst, low-budget music videos I'd ever seen.  It was so bad, it deserved to be made fun of on one of those "let's make fun of this" VH1 shows.  However, after such a terrible, terrible video of jumping around in black jeans, wife beaters on beds in a warehouse (WTF?), Nsync became the kings of music videos.  They didn't make a bad one after that.  Actually, if you ever have absolutely nothing else to look at on YouTube, search Nsync videos. They're awesome.  That video is so bad, it's hard to find images of it.  Just search it.

Lance Bass.
You've got to love this guy.  He comes out of the closet and he wants to be an astronaut.  Not to mention he had to kiss that girl from 7th Heaven.

  1. I bought JC's singles on iTunes not only to make his solo career happen, but because I actually thought they were good. When he wasn't a success I felt partially to blame. My name is Cris, and I'm a millenial.

  2. I illegally downloaded one of JC's singles and burned it onto a CD. That was before iTunes, so I'm almost OK with admitting that.
