My parents were sitting in the front row and my mother was taking pictures with a disposable camera. I haven't seen a disposable camera since I was a freshman at Sam Houston. Eat'em Up Kats!
I was valedictorian of my class, but of course, and I forgot my speech. I didn't forget the words to the speech, I forgot that I had to give a speech. Valedictorians give speeches? Mind-blown. I got up there and just winged it, naturally.
The most significant part of this dream was that Morgan Freeman was handing out the diplomas. He sat at the end of the stage and never stood up. Graduates would go by, Morgan would hand them their diploma, and they would go sit down. Simple as that. Not when I got my diploma.
"Laura Brooke Randolph." I walked over to Morgan Freeman, shook his hand and he said "I want a picture with you." So my mother, in all her disposable camera glory, stood up and snapped a photo. Morgan handed me the diploma and proceeded to tell the audience what an amazing student and person I am. And then, like the sands of an hourglass, Morgan Freeman began to cry.
I woke up feeling like Warren Buffet gave me all of his money. When Morgan Freeman cries because of how much he appreciates you, you've done something right.
It's going to be a good week.
