Dear Cleaning Crew

Dear Cleaning Crew,

Every Monday morning around 7:45, I unlock the back door to my office and walk into a surprise.  I love surprises: When a friend visits, random flowers, surprise parties.  I don't like surprises that disorient my entire work flow.

I would appreciate it if you would put my favorite black Sharpie pen back in my pen basket.  It goes between the red pen and my white-out liner - right where you took it from.  You have until Tuesday, September 3rd, to return it.  I've been having to use my blue Sharpie pen, but I don't like writing in blue.  I like writing in black.  I resorted to an off brand ballpoint pen and it is insufficient.  Bring me back my black Sharpie pen.

I think it's fantastic you guys turn the lights on while you're cleaning.  It must really help you see the dust you're supposed to be cleaning off of I don't know what because there's still dust everywhere.  It would mean so much to me if you would turn the lights off when you are done cleaning.  Not only does it waste energy, but it also makes me believe that someone else is here on a Monday at 7:45.  No one else is ever here on a Monday at 7:45, but your crazy light tricks get me every time.

When I was a lass, I learned the months of the year and the order in which they fall.  It was an easy task and it is knowledge that does not plague me to this day.  I like a good puzzle and riddle just as much as the rest of the world, but when you knock over my desk calendar and put it back in the wrong order, it irritates me.  It is not February, and if it was, October does not fall after it.  I feel like you're trying to hide that you knocked over my calendar.  You cannot hide.  I know what you do every week.  If this is a joke, I'm not laughing; I'm concerned.

Why is my computer on?  I turn it off every Friday.  Explain that.  You have until Tuesday September 3rd.

Stop putting the trashcan under my desk horizontally.  It takes up too much space that way.  Do you not see that I have turned it?

Have you been eating my peanut butter?  That peanut butter is not cheap.

Why are half of the chairs in the conference room sitting very low and the other half sitting very high?  What do you do with those chairs?

Stop turning the sensor on the trashcan in the kitchen off.  It really messes with me when I'm trying to throw coffee grounds away and I wave my hand over the lid and it doesn't move.  This makes absolutely no sense.  Why do we have a sensored trashcan?  Lazy.

The coffee tasted like soap this Monday, explain that.

Stop changing the time on the coffeemaker.  That device is set on a timer and when it's 8:00 am and it says 12:45 pm, well I have to actually push a button to get it to brew.  Maybe I don't want to do that on Monday mornings.

I hope this list of complaints isn't too much.  You're not going to read this anyway.  I'm just really upset about my pen being gone.  BRING IT BACK!
Look at this crap! I'm not impressed.

Sincerely,

Brooke Randolph
