That scene is extremely relevant to today, and I'm not talking about the men. I'm talking about women. Men these days are really into the tailored (sometimes super tight and that's obnoxious, dudes) straight-leg look, and I dig it. I like to compliment a man on his jeans or his jacket. Women, however, are into this whole looking like you rolled out of bed thing.
I am an advocate for not fussing with looking presentable every once in a while. A couple of weekends ago, I went to Wal Mart in gym shorts, a t-shirt, with wet hair, no make up and glasses. But I chose to go to Wal Mart because people can't judge me there. Some days, I wear a baggy shirt and a pair of pants, and that's OK. It's OK every once in a while. Maybe on a Saturday or an evening during the week. I don't know. I don't make the rules. This is all opinion.
I'm not actually talking about those moments. I'm talking about those times when you grab a pair of skinnies, a baggy shirt, you put your hair in a messy bun (after you watched a tutorial, and we ALL know how I feel about those), and you go out thinking that this look is appropriate for all settings. It is not. It is not. It is not. That is not a date outfit. That is not a casual Friday work outfit. That is a music festival outfit. That is a going shopping first thing in the morning outfit.
I am annoyed that this baggy shirt (because your t-shirt material shirt is baggy, ladies, it's not flowy) and pants (because I don't care what you call them, pants are pants) fashion idea is considered classy. It's such a simple and classic look. False. You looked like you rolled out of bed.
God gave me a waist, some good looking legs, and a bust, so I just like to take advantage of it every once in a while. Ladies, you look like you fell out of bed and men are expect to swoon? I don't think so. Why do you want your hair to look like that with your big sunnies on? You look hungover.
Look like a lady every once in a while. Stop buying "boyfriend" jeans. You are not your boyfriend or your future boyfriend or whatever. The girls from Clueless, they knew how to dress.
I say all of this because I have been staring out of the window at work all morning and it's all I see. Girls dressed in baggy clothes and men wearing nice, dark wash, straight leg jeans. How times have changed since 1995.
And most importantly: Stop Jeepin'.
I'm going to write a blog about Clueless later on. I have to, now.

Hey. Sometimes I DO go to work having just rolled out of bed. Don't judge me! :)
