I worked out this morning. I should not have done that because my back has been hurting all day because of it. Robert is out of town so no one was here to give me the "look" and stop me. I then cleaned my bathtub, did the dishes, two loads of laundry and dusted. I didn't eat a meal until tonight but I did make hummus, so that's something?
Then, something amazing happened. Honestly, it's not all that amazing.
Behold:
Leather, bow bracelet. Yeah, I made that. I'm turning into a crazy cat lady with all of my crafting - minus the cats. I made a headband earlier this week. Here is the step-by-step process.
Take a Purse
I chose this one because it's ugly, but I like bright colors.
Tear that Purse Apart!
This step requires a seam ripper. If you don't have a seam ripper, crab some cuticle scissors. I was using a seam ripper until I got a little aggressive...
...and that happened. So I went to the cuticle scissors - that I use to to shape my eyebrows. Seriously, ladies, buy some cuticle scissors. They are good for everything. I Digress. I highly suggest ripping apart purses if you have pent up anger or aggression. Also, if you're about to start your period or on your period because this purse ripping is like therapy. Take it out on the purse, not the world.
Make an Oval
I made mine about 7.5" x 4". I have somewhat small wrists, so use your best judgement. Then of course, cut it out. That's common sense:
Contrary to popular belief, all that cutting stuff out and following the lines business we learned in kindergarten will not stick with you. Nothing about this shape resembles an oval, but that doesn't matter.
Make a Bow
Easy enough. So once you form this bow, I need you to grab string of some sort. Thread is good because you might use it later.
Tie the string or thread or shoelace, whatever, around it just to secure it. How do like those kitchen shears? Work with what you've got.
Cut a Strip
This picture is hideous, but you understand? Look at those cuticle scissors! Cut a strip just wide enough to cover the center and long enough to wrap around with a little give. I'll give you a couple of options. 1. Wrap the strip around the center and super-glue the ends together. 2. Be awesome like me, wrap the strip around the center and sew the ends together. Like a boss.
Button, Button, Who's Got the Button?
I'll give you a couple of options. 1. Take snap buttons and super-glue them to the ends of your bow for a snap closure. 2. Be awesome like me and take a real button and sew that puppy on there. Once you do that, cut a slit (I loathe that word) on the other side for the button to go through.
Aha!
Look, A Bracelet
Hear this, if I can do this, anyone can. I then got a little crazy and made this next one for Dara:
I am so sad about that significant patch of freckles I know longer have. Horrible picture.

Now, I'm tired.
