If you know me, you know my favorite story of all time was written by a man who was extremely cracked out, high and drunk all at once.
Probably why I like it so much: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. This blog is not a book review, so you can breathe a sigh of relief.
I quote this book in everyday life because I think it's relative to my everyday life. The mome raths outgrabe, people. They outgrabe!
Since the beginning of time, which was October 29, 1986, this book has taught me many wise things. The wisest of them all is that nothing is impossible. Impassible, yes, but not impossible.
I learned that from a doorknob. A talking doorknob. Are you starting to understand why this book is awesome? A talking doorknob. How cool is that? I wish my doorknob talked and there was an ocean of tears behind it. A girl can dream.
I Digress.
Today, I am going to talk about my six "impossible" things that will happen this year. I'm 25 years old and I went through loops and around corners and through fire to make it to 25, so I'm not going to take 25 with a grain of salt. I'm going to do some stuff and I've got until October 29 to do them. Let's go, in no particular order:
Learn to play guitar.
A gosh dang, godzilla, oh my jeez - I tried to do this some 10, 11 years ago and I got too frustrated with it. However, I believe that in my wise, old age I have developed a calmness and patience. I chose to believe that my fingers were disproportionate and therefor I was unable to play guitar. That's a terrible excuse and I actually think I have lovely hands.
Triathlon
This one is beyond doable. There's no excuse not to do this. The only excuses not to do this are: July and August. Seriously, Texas during those two months. I would die. I will do this alone if need be, but I'd like to have a partner in crime *cough*robertjones*cough* Hope he reads this. If he does, surely he got the hint. I see his face now.
Half-Marathon
I'm already signed up so there's no backing out now. I have until September to get my tail in gear, which means I'll probably start training in August when it's 175 degrees outside. I've wanted to do a half-marathon for a long time but never had the nerve to do one. I'm not getting any younger so I better get to gettin.
Spartan Race or Tough Mudder
I want to do one or both of these only because they are bad ass.
Mission Trip
I've wanted to do this for the longest time, but God hadn't readied me for one. Lately, my heart strings have been pulled and I'm ready. I had to complete one mission trip before I could start thinking about another one - myself. I was my own mission field. I'm ready. I've applied and we will see where I go.
Make It to 26 Without Hearing a Colbie Callait Song.
One can only dream.
I realized I said ass and then followed that up with "Mission Trip."

You may be wondering: Why is a raven like a writing desk? Well:
They both produce a few notes, all very flat, and are almost never turned the wrong way front."
